This is a drawing for Illustration Friday This weeks word was layers.
I drew the character Shrek from the movie by Dreamworks.When I thought of the word layers I immediately thought of the scene where Shrek is telling Donkey;
" Ogres are like onions. Onions have layers, Ogres have layers."
I decided to put the quote behind Shrek so that people would be able to relate to which scene in the movie I wanted to depict. Having Shrek seperating on the right side of his body is to demonstrate the word layers as well as having the onion in his hand.

This is my step where I begin to add in the colour and blotch in where the shading will be before I add in any major shading.
This is my first step to my drawings. This stage is to sketch out how I want the drawing to be placed.

Getting McFired Interpretation
The next couple of images are my interpretation for an article called Getting Myself McFired.
This is my main image for the article. I drew the the scene when the manager was beginning to get angry with the employer. I found that the manager and employer had opposite personalities. The manager is very edgy and anxious where as the employer is calm and arrogant. For that reason, the manager is portrayed as being furious and the employer as arrogant with his head in the air. The uniforms are the McDonald's UK uniforms and I exaggerated the shirt to more of an orange colour so that the blue background would be the complementary and make the orange pop out more.
The next image is little icons describing some parts in the article and can be used to brake up the article. The first icon is a burger which is a depiction of the McNificent burger and I wrote the name with the bun seeds. The second icon is a depiction of when the employer is at the register and greets the customers with a annoying accent and says “Hey welcome to McDonald’s, what kind of burgers can I get you here today?”. The last icon is based on the name of the article McFired. Each icon has a blue starburst to associate it with the main image above.

Thinking Sweater
This is a drawing I did that represents the word sweater for the illustration friday group. I decided to draw this image because when I thought of the word sweater, I pictured an old lady sitting by a fire knitting a sweater for a grandchild.
The walls and ground are a darker colour to keep more of a cozy atmosphere. Also, the walls have a vertical pattern and the ground a cross hatch pattern to keep the mind stimulated since it can be boring if you kept the same pattern and same colour.

Reverse
This weeks word for Illustration Friday is reverse. I started thinking about What it would be like if everything we think is normal suddenly reversed. You woke up and people are walking, reading, and wearing clothes backwards. The normal order and behavior is reversed so that you are left as abnormal, the opposite of the new norm.
Do you feel normal?

Perception of Surrender
Illustration Friday- Surrender
There is a difference between giving up and surrendering. Giving up is to lose all hope and to entirely stop taking course of action. Spiritually, surrendering is to give in to something greater like the universe. To let go of needing to control and let that greater power to guide you to the path we are meant to take when one path has ended.
