Mohawk Community Builders

This is my logo design for Mohawk Community Builders. It was required to incorporate Mohawks new logo with the creation for the builders logo. For that reason I created the Mohawk logo to look like it was a houses doors and windows. Also, a circle window at the top with a smile in it to signifiy community happy to help.

This is my poster I created that unifies the logo but it is created to be more apparent that it is community builders.

Duet

This is my illustration for this weeks word Illustration Friday- Duet

I wanted to make a painterly style using photoshop but wanted it to by very simple with the brush strokes and colour to blend and consistent with the background. To create some movement I have a a shadow of the dancer shifted to the side of the dancers.

These are some simple thumbnails I was deciding on using.

Photoshop Graffiti

I drew a little girl with a gas mask to represent how we might not be effected by the pollution to the extent of having to a mask, but in generations to come children might have to wear gas masks in their everyday life.

I saw Bansky's graffiti and I really liked his style of using just black and white to draw some of the figures and incorporated the white and black with my style.

Pepper Warning

Illustration Friday- WARNING
Sometimes when I use pepper I sneeze. It always comes as a surprise to me because it happens randomly. In that random moment I have a one second warning between having a tickle in my nose to sneezing. Sometimes I wish I could have a longer warning so I wouldn't sneeze where I didn't want to.

These are some other ideas I was thinking of using for this week word; warning

Onion Layers

This is a drawing for Illustration Friday This weeks word was layers.

I drew the character Shrek from the movie by Dreamworks.When I thought of the word layers I immediately thought of the scene where Shrek is telling Donkey;

" Ogres are like onions. Onions have layers, Ogres have layers."

I decided to put the quote behind Shrek so that people would be able to relate to which scene in the movie I wanted to depict. Having Shrek seperating on the right side of his body is to demonstrate the word layers as well as having the onion in his hand.

Illustration Friday- Layers

Drew the character Shrek from the movie by Dreamworks for the illustration friday word layers.

layers- step3

This is my step where I begin to add in the colour and blotch in where the shading will be before I add in any major shading.

layers- step2

This is my first step to my drawings. This stage is to sketch out how I want the drawing to be placed.

Getting McFired Interpretation

The next couple of images are my interpretation for an article called Getting Myself McFired.

This is my main image for the article. I drew the the scene when the manager was beginning to get angry with the employer. I found that the manager and employer had opposite personalities. The manager is very edgy and anxious where as the employer is calm and arrogant. For that reason, the manager is portrayed as being furious and the employer as arrogant with his head in the air. The uniforms are the McDonald's UK uniforms and I exaggerated the shirt to more of an orange colour so that the blue background would be the complementary and make the orange pop out more.

McDonalds

The next image is little icons describing some parts in the article and can be used to brake up the article. The first icon is a burger which is a depiction of the McNificent burger and I wrote the name with the bun seeds. The second icon is a depiction of when the employer is at the register and greets the customers with a annoying accent and says “Hey welcome to McDonald’s, what kind of burgers can I get you here today?”. The last icon is based on the name of the article McFired. Each icon has a blue starburst to associate it with the main image above.

Thinking Sweater

This is a drawing I did that represents the word sweater for the illustration friday group. I decided to draw this image because when I thought of the word sweater, I pictured an old lady sitting by a fire knitting a sweater for a grandchild.

Illustration Friday- Sweater

The walls and ground are a darker colour to keep more of a cozy atmosphere. Also, the walls have a vertical pattern and the ground a cross hatch pattern to keep the mind stimulated since it can be boring if you kept the same pattern and same colour.

Reverse

This weeks word for Illustration Friday is reverse. I started thinking about What it would be like if everything we think is normal suddenly reversed. You woke up and people are walking, reading, and wearing clothes backwards. The normal order and behavior is reversed so that you are left as abnormal, the opposite of the new norm.

Illustration Friday- Reverse

Do you feel normal?

Perception of Surrender

Illustration Friday- Surrender

There is a difference between giving up and surrendering. Giving up is to lose all hope and to entirely stop taking course of action. Spiritually, surrendering is to give in to something greater like the universe. To let go of needing to control and let that greater power to guide you to the path we are meant to take when one path has ended.

Another One Bites the Dust

Illustration Friday- Dusty
As a child listening to Queen's, another one bites the dust, always gave me an image of someone literally biting dust as apposed to the the meaning behind the phrase.

Illustration Friday- Dusty

I always thought to myself when I was younger, you are gonna have a pretty dusty mouth if you are going around biting dust.Thank you for reading my post!

Perception of Deja-vu

Illustration Friday- Deja-vu
How I perceive deja vu is when you see something and you feel like you have experienced it before. However, in that moment of trying to think about when you have experienced that deja vu, that thought always seems like a blurred vision. For that reason I drew eyes to portray "vu" (saw), and the blurred reflections as "deja" (already) for when you feel like you've already seen it and it comes as a blur.

Deja Vu

Thank you for reading my blog about deja-vu.
